It is clear we’re all going through a trying time, but we’re so happy to say we’re still here for you through it all. Our private setting, along with our extensive sanitizing routine, makes our facility the perfect, healthy destination when you need some time out of the house. By partaking in self-quarantine and only leaving when necessary (and to safe, clean locations), we can work to “flatten the curve” and slow the spread of COVID-19.
Since you’ll be spending much more time inside your home, we’ve gathered some of the best tips to keep you healthy while we wait for the spread of COVID-19 to slow:
Exercise of the Month: Stay Physically Active During Self-Quarantine
These times are sure to bring about a variety of new stresses, but you can (and will) overcome. One of the best ways to lower your stress levels is to keep your body moving. A good workout can do wonders in regards to keeping your mind at ease.
While you’re at home, you may need to think a little bit outside the box to get that great workout in each day. Try getting in multiple spurts of movement throughout the day, go for a walk to get some sunshine, or try standing instead of sitting while you work remotely.
The World Health Organization shares a compilation of great home exercises that require nothing more than your body and a little bit of open space. You can view the whole list here.
Eat Clean with Asparagus
You know vegetables are healthy, but are you aware of the long list of health benefits that come along with asparagus? It’s got great flavor, can be used in a variety of dishes, and it’s still in stock at almost every grocery store in the area.
Asparagus is filled with fiber, folate, and vitamins A,C, E, and K. It’s even got protein and fulfills a large percentage of your daily potassium needs. These nutritional characteristics allow asparagus to help in the fight against cancer and support brain health (which is oh-so-important during high-stress times).
It also makes for a great addition to your spring salads. Consider adding it to a Chickpea Quinoa Salad or enjoy it Cheesy Caprese-style. You can find these recipes, as well as many other great asparagus dish ideas, here.

Injury Prevention with Laser Therapy
While you’re staying active at home, it’s important that you work to prevent injuries that may occur along the way. Laser Therapy is an excellent tool to help in this task, especially if you’re experiencing some aches and pains that may cause you to overcompensate while exercising.
Laser Therapy can help lessen lumbar and sciatic pain, muscle spasms, joint pain, and extremity pain, so you can keep consistent form and complete healthy workouts on your own. Reach out today if you’d like to learn more about how this treatment can be of benefit to you.
Activities That’ll Keep You Busy at Home
We’ve usually got a list of fun community events for you to check out, but this month we’re encouraging you to continue staying home. Local events are cancelled to slow the spread of COVID-19, and we’ve gathered a list of great activities you can do within your own home. Enjoy this down time with your family, and make some memories that will last a lifetime.
De-Stress with Meditation
Sit comfortably or lay down and close your eyes. Relax your mind and body, and focus on your breath. Breathe in, breathe out. Picture your favorite place or repeat a soothing word in your mind. Stay in this meditative state for 20 or so minutes, or until you feel a deep sense of calm. That calm may even stay with you as you go on with your day.
Get Social While Keeping Your Distance
Call a friend or family member and have an old-fashioned phone conversation. This is particularly helpful if the feelings of loneliness that can come along with self-quarantine start to show. Spending extra time inside your home doesn’t mean you have to feel alone.
Go for a Bike Ride
Biking is the perfect way to get some fresh air while staying in line with social distancing recommendations. Take in some scenery, move your body, and breathe in the fresh air, all while staying at least six feet away from the people you pass.
We know these times may be trying, but we also know you’re strong enough to get through them. Remember we’re here for you, and work toward staying healthy while you stay at home. Together we can stay on track with our health and wellness goals while also slowing the spread of COVID-19.
