Exercise of the Month: Core Training
The best core workouts include a variety of exercises done consistently. Try doing a few of my favorite plank variations for a strong core training workout.
- Planks on elbows and toes
- Modified planks on hands and toes (This one works your arms, too!)
- Reverse planks (With this one, you face up.)

The Annual Venice Consumer Expo at the Venice Community Center features over 100 businesses, door prizes and health screenings. This year is the 30th year of the expo, and it’s being held on Oct. 6 and 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Longboat Key Triathlon and Duathlon, otherwise known as “The Luxury Triathlon,” will be hosted on the tony key on Oct. 15. The races include both sprint and international distances.
The Run 941 Classic at Lido Key is a fun 5K you’ll definitely want to experience. It starts at 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 22, so I’ll see you there bright and early!
