Healthier Christmas Treats to Eat
Food is a part of the holidays, but healthier choices can be fun to add in. The following recipes are tasty and worth a try, whether or not they’re the best for everyday eating:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of powdered sugar
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 9 ounces bittersweet chocolate
- Melted candies and flaky salt for decorating
Instructions:
- Beat sugar, peanut butter, butter, vanilla, and salt with a mixer until dough forms.
- Roll into balls and set on a tray lined with parchment paper and freeze until firm (or for about 20 minutes).
- Melt chocolate in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
- Line another tray with parchment paper. Then, dip peanut butter balls in melted chocolate and set them on the tray until dry. Add dry decorations if desired.
- Once ready, decorate with melted candies and enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 4 medium-sized frozen bananas
- Dash of almond milk
- ¼ c. cocoa powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1-3 drops peppermint extract
Instructions:
- Mix all ingredients in the food processor, saving the peppermint extract for last to add your preferred amount.
